Pluie and Washie offer a safer, healthier working environment for professionals and their families
BOISE, ID – As more workers return to the office, Kiln Meridian is separating itself as the most family-focused coworking space in the marketplace by improving the cleanliness of the work environment and how parents care for their children in public.
Kiln has installed two new innovations changing the way we think of public restrooms: Pluie, the world’s first self-sanitizing diaper changing table for public restrooms, and Washie, the first toilet seat that allows the user to wipe the seat down with an alcohol-based cleaning solution. With these additions, their restrooms are cleaner, safer, and more welcoming to professionals and their families.
Pluie changing tables are powered by a patented UV-C light system known to kill 99.9% of germs including influenza, e. Coli, and coronavirus. The UV-C light system activates when the table is closed, sanitizing the changing surface in just 60 seconds after each use. Pluie’s breakthrough design also features a retractable safety strap that won’t collect dirt when not in use, attached diaper bag handle to keep bags and purses from being placed on a contaminated surface, and a plush foam leak-proof cushion.
The table was named a Fast Company 2021 World Changing Idea and TIME Magazine Best Invention. Pluie changing tables are now installed in healthcare facilities, major attractions, sports arenas, and more, in 20 states nationwide.
Washie Toilet Seat provides users with an alcohol-based cleaning solution to clean the seat eliminating the use of ineffective paper toilet seat covers. Simply GRAB a few pieces of toilet paper, HOLD your hand over the sensor located on the side of the seat, cleaning solution will rise to the surface of the seat, then WIPE the seat down before use. Washie is also the first smart toilet seat for public restrooms, conveniently connecting to an app that notifies maintenance when a battery or cartridge is low, further improving the guest experience.
You can find Washie Toilet Seats in hospitals, airports, event centers, and arenas all around the Mountain West.
Pluie Founder and CEO Addie Gundry was inspired to found Pluie after a public parenting nightmare. “As a mom, I understand the need for a clean, safe place to change a diaper when out in public. I was out to lunch with my 10-month-old son, and he had a diaper blowout in the middle of the restaurant. The changing table in the women’s restroom was dirty and left a lot to be desired, and the men’s room didn’t even have one. I said to my husband, ‘I think we can design a better one’.”
Similarly, Washie founder and inventor Rob Poleki found inspiration for his invention in an airport while taking his 4-year-old son to the restroom. After waiting in line, a stall finally opened up but the seat was disgusting. After a struggle with a few paper toilet seat covers, Rob grabbed some paper towels and soap to clean the seat for his son and thought, “Why is everything in a public restroom hands free to eliminate germs except the most important thing, the toilet seat?”
“Public facilities and family-friendly attractions are more concerned than ever with the health, safety, and comfort of their guests, and I’m proud that Pluie and Washie can be solutions for facilities to enhance their guest experience,” says Pluie founder and CEO Addie Gundry.
